icommunicate
icommunicate is a website designed to provide information and resources relating to communication, and improving communication skills. Our aim is to help individuals with communication difficulties, as well as provide information to parents and teachers about how they can develop and enhance their children’s speech and language skills. For those adults and children currently having speech therapy, we hope this site will provide extra resources and activities to work in conjunction with an established speech therapy schedule, or to provide individuals with the necessary resources to make some progress independently. The site covers the wide variety of speech and language disorders, communication development, hearing impairment, autism, brain injury, stroke and acquired adult communication difficulties, special needs and learning difficulties, and assistive communication (AAC). All the information on the site is written by qualified, certified Speech and Language Therapists.
Part of the whole philosophy of this site is to try and bring people together to share information. Through the internet we now have a global community. We want to build a network of professionals, parents and individuals with communication difficulties so that we can share information, ideas and resources, and contribute to ongoing research.
